WHAT IS PLANTAR FASCIITIS?
Plantar Fasciitis is a form of heel pain that is cause by the inflammation of the band of fibrous tissue (plantar fasciitis) that connects the heel to the toes. This condition can range from somewhat painful to extremely painful, that normally begins in the morning when you wake up with strong pinpoint pain near the heel area.
This issue is quite common and is caused by an excess of shock absorption in the fibrous band. This can cause the ligaments to wear down and the fibrous band being inflamed, which causes a painful stiffness, ranging from the bottom of the foot to the heel. Plantar Fasciitis may also lead to heal spurs, which are painful calcifications that form underneath the heel bone.
Plantar Fasciitis can be caused by many conditions such as minor trauma, obesity, pronation, high arches, improper fitting shoes, or the effect of long distance running and/or being on your feet for long periods of time.
Plantar Fasciitis and Heel Spurs can cause mild discomfort to disability, depending on the injury. ESWT treatment is a clinically proven way to effectively treat the beginning of Plantar Fasciitis (inflammation) and also in advanced cases where the fascia tissue has been damaged.
